Kristin Zeising, Psy.D. is a San Diego California licensed psychologist who completed her undergraduate degree with a double major in Psychology and Sociology at the University of California at Santa Cruz. Over the past 15 years, she has worked with individuals, couples, families and groups and taught psycho-educational classes on topics such as stress reduction, mindfulness practices, couples communication and overcoming depression. Dr. Zeising enjoys enriching her knowledge base by frequently attending conferences and seminars that educate her about the latest research and techniques. She is enthusiastic about learning what is cutting edge in her field and brings this knowledge and excitement to her work with you. Dr. Zeising has received extensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy, short and long-term psychodynamic therapy, marital and couple therapy. She has completed specialized training in Post Induction Therapy for Developmental Immaturity Treatment (formerly known as co-dependence) designed to treat the effects of childhood trauma and resulting issues of developmental immaturity. The PIT training is based on the work of Pia Mellody of The Meadows Trauma Treatment Center in Arizona. She is also a Certified Sex Therapist through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT).

In addition to providing therapy, Dr. Zeising enjoys working with the media. She was a “Love Doctor” on a morning show on channel 93.3 for two years, providing helpful tips about relationships and answering callers’ questions. She has been interviewed on news programs about various topics, attended speaking engagements to educate students at SDSU about Sex Therapy, and has been called upon to offer her psychological input for the San Diego Repertory Theater for a Surround Event. She is always interested in helping educate the public about the field of psychology.

Dr. Zeising’s philosophy is to help people reach their full potential in their relational, emotional and sexual lives. She is authentic and compassionate and truly believes that her calling in life is to help people find the joy they deserve.

“My goal is to empower adults to live a more rich and fulfilling life. I am collaborative and interactive, helping individuals resolve self-limiting beliefs that lead to depression, despair and a sense of powerlessness and meaninglessness in life. I help individuals deepen their sense of self-acceptance by understanding and transforming the roots of depression, anxiety, shame, guilt, and anger. I work with couples to transform self-protective strategies that undermine the relationship and help them to resolve old fears and bitterness, rebuild trust, and risk vulnerability to create a deeper sense of intimacy. I help people see the possibility of what life can offer when self-exploration, healing and growth occur.” —Kristin Zeising, Psy.D.
